The Moms and Mentors Society is dedicated to providing essential support for single mothers on their educational journey. Our scholarship program offers financial assistance for education, covering tuition, textbooks, and related costs, alongside valuable mentoring services. We especially prioritize women who have not completed Grade 12 or who need to upgrade their skills to pursue post-secondary education. Applications are welcome from residents of the West Shore of Vancouver Island, including Sooke, Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, and View Royal. Please draft a brief letter of introduction addressed to the Moms and Mentors Society Scholarship Committee. Include your name, home address, email, and a contact number, such as your cell or home phone. In your introduction, share a little about yourself and your family.

Next, within your letter, outline your educational goals and include proof of registration for your chosen program. Clearly state the name and address of the institution you are accepted into, along with the date of admission and your anticipated completion date. This will help illustrate your need for financial assistance for education, particularly for the single mothers scholarship you are applying for.

Additionally, please attach two reference letters from individuals who support your scholarship application. These references can be personal or professional contacts, and be sure to include their phone number and email address. Inform your references that a member of the Scholarship Committee may reach out to them for verification.

Finally, email your documents, including your letter of introduction, proof of registration for your educational program, and the two reference letters, to the Chair of the Moms and Mentors Scholarship Committee at momsandmentors@outlook.com.

The Scholarship Committee will contact applicants within 2 - 3 weeks to confirm receipt of their application for financial assistance for education. Each application for the single mothers scholarship is reviewed on an individual basis by the Moms and Mentors Society.

The Moms and Mentors Society offers a Scholarship Program, funded through generous donations from the West Shore Rotary, PEO (Philanthropic Educational Opportunities), the Lions Club, private contributions, and the Moms and Mentors' annual fundraising initiatives, all aimed at providing financial assistance for education to single mothers through this scholarship.
