Scholarship Program for Single Mothers
The Moms and Mentors Society is dedicated to supporting single mothers on their educational journey — offering financial assistance for tuition, textbooks, and related costs, alongside valuable mentoring services.
Who Can Apply
We especially prioritize women who have not completed Grade 12 or who need to upgrade their skills to pursue post-secondary education. Applications are welcome from residents of the West Shore of Vancouver Island, including Sooke, Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, and View Royal.
How to Apply
Write a Letter of Introduction
Draft a brief letter addressed to the Moms and Mentors Society Scholarship Committee. Include your name, home address, email, and a contact number. Share a little about yourself and your family, and outline your educational goals.
Include Proof of Registration
Attach proof of registration for your chosen program. Clearly state the name and address of the institution, the date of admission, and your anticipated completion date.
Provide Two Reference Letters
Attach two reference letters from personal or professional contacts who support your application. Include their phone number and email address — a Scholarship Committee member may contact them for verification.
Submit by Email
Email your letter of introduction, proof of registration, and two reference letters to the Chair of the Moms and Mentors Scholarship Committee at momsandmentors@outlook.com.
What Happens Next
The Scholarship Committee will contact applicants within 2–3 weeks to confirm receipt of their application. Each application is reviewed on an individual basis by the Moms and Mentors Society.
